Here are a few Valentine’s Day Tips for fun:

1. Try to do something new you have never done before. This doesn’t mean spend a ton of money, but for example: instead of buying a card make one, cut-out hearts and all!

2. Buy your gf her favorite dessert instead of a box of chocolates. Maybe she loves cupcakes, pie or ice cream sandwiches and would appreciate that way gesture way more than the typical box of chocolates.

3. Instead of going to the overpriced dinner, walking on the beach or sipping wine in candlelight, try planning an active Valentine’s Day/Night. Go to the zoo, a museum or take a cooking class together! Added bonus: try something she has always wanted to do!

This week I thought I would say Yes to a proposal location! We rarely give shout outs to amazing locations we find, but I need to share this one. With Valentine’s Day around the corner we are gearing up and scouting amazing proposal locations. This one is located in San Francisco. Why I love it so much is because you can have the space private for a proposal, but it can easily turn into a room fit for an engagement party! It also is Tyler Florence’s flagship restaurant. You can reserve the whole second floor or entire restaurant for your event. Added bonus: a tv in one of the private rooms to incorporate a slideshow or messages from family and friends after you propose and the other private room has a billiards table! We Say Yes to knowing information on an engagement ring before you buy it! These are a few tips on great questions and information to know when buying a ring. 1. What She Wants: If your girl says she doesn’t care, then congratulations! You found a great girl. But she probably isn’t telling you the whole truth. Ask around. You know within 30 seconds what she likes and hates. Trust me. You don’t need to know every last detail, but having a clue when you starts to shop will certainly save you time, and probably some money in the end too.

2. Trust: Trust your Guy (The expert helping you out with your diamond purchase.) This is a big purchase for you. Most likely the biggest one time purchase besides your car or maybe your house. Ask around to see whom your friends and family worked with. The last thing you need to be wondering if you are being raked over the coals. Your Guy should be able to answer all your questions and help you find or create just what you’re looking for.

3. Buy Light: You can save some money by buying light. There are 100 points in a full 1.0ct diamond. Ask to compare .90ct next to a full 1.0ct, or a 1.85ct next to a 2.0ct. You’ll notice they look very similar in size, and you’ll be happy to find, it will usually save you more than 10% to 15%. Plus, you can still round up to all your friends.

This week I am saying Yes to our new mission statement for our business, “Spreading Thoughtfulness…” I wanted to share an idea on how to spread thoughtfulness for your marriage. Since it is the beginning of the New Year, instead of just writing down general goals, write specific goals maybe 1, 3, 6 and 12 months of how you are going to be more thoughtful this year to your spouse.

For Example:

“Take one night a week to hear about your dreams and listen with no distractions.”

“Give up something I want to do, and do something with you that you love.”

“Make new memories together, and find new things we love to do together.”
